Membership
Membership is open to both adults (aged 18+) and juniors (aged 8–18).
We have a thriving membership, and our Junior Section benefits from drama and stagecraft workshops every Friday run by a dedicated team of volunteers. Adult members regularly produce shows in a variety of genres, participate in SCDA festivals and support the local community.
Adult members
Have you ever considered treading the boards? Perhaps you would rather help out backstage, building sets, painting scenery, setting lights or sewing costumes? Would you like to be part of a vibrant theatrical community and learn how to put on a show?

We are an amateur dramatic society based in our own theatre, The Mill Theatre, in Thurso on the Far North Coast of Scotland. Performing around 3–4 shows a year, ranging from pantomime to musicals to serious drama, our members entertain Caithness and enjoy a real community feeling. Both experienced players and new members benefit from the camaraderie that has developed over 60 years since Thurso Players’ formation.

Junior section
Ranging from 8 to 18 years of age, our approx. 70 Juniors are part of an enthusiastic, volunteer-led group that learn drama and stagecraft in a secure, welcoming environment.
Our Juniors meet every Friday, in two separate groups according to school year age range, and benefit from the wealth of experience of our volunteer adult members, and occasional visiting professionals.
Many of our Juniors over the years have gone on to become professional actors and backstage crew.

We have a waiting list for our Junior Section. Please contact our Junior Coordinator for information on workshops or our Secretary to be advised on waiting times and to add your child’s name to the list.
